11.4 Driving according to traffic signs
To be able to drive according to road signs in roadway speeds, you have to have sufficient eyesight. If a person's eyesight is on the minimum level required for a driving license (0.5 on visual acuity scale) it is almost impossible to drive according to traffic signs. Normal eyesight is 1.0.
Direction signs are used to guide and help navigating in traffic. Direction signs are usually blue with white text.
Green signs with white text guide to a motorway or road for motor vehicles. Same signs are also used for parallel traffic on motorways or road for motor vehicles.
A white sign with black text is used as direction sign for local purposes.
A brown sign with white text is used for guiding to services used for holiday travel.
Yellow signs with black text guide to a detour or temporary traffic arrangement.
A black sign with white text is a direction sign on private road.

Checklist for a car trip:
Start planning the trip early and include all the participating persons in planning.
Remember to take care of the car and basic equipment.
Don't drive too long daily distances and alternate driving shifts.
Remember to take breaks and take some pastime entertainment for the trip.
If possible, take a navigator with you.
