13.2 Necessity of overtaking
The Distance Required for Overtaking
Overtake distance can be over ½ kilometres in length.
A sufficient speed difference is needed to overtake safely.
If the speed difference is 10 km/h, it is not advisable to overtake, because the distance and time to overtake are dangerously long. Safe overtaking is possible when the speed difference is at least 20 km/h.
Overtaking must happen without exceeding the speed limit.
The most important thing to consider before any overtake is if it is really necessary.
